Linux update 0.0.16 (Stable 98534?) WAY slower than before

This can no longer be blamed on a bad CPU, I'm running it on an AMD ryzen 5900x. That update is WAY slower than before, scrolling the server list or even hovering mouse over it is very visibly laggy (around 10fps or less) and I can hear my CPU fan speed up as I use discord now. This is most noticeable when moving the mouse cursor over the server list, and scrolling the server list while moving the mouse cursor over it.

This did not happen to such an extent in previous versions.

 

Enabling/disabling hardware acceleration makes no visible difference.

  I've the same issue running Ubuntu 21.04 on an i7 8700k.
  For now I use the web version until the issue is fixed.

  I'm having the same issue. For some reason the CPU is being hammered when animations are played in the server list. Everything else seems to be more or less fine, but with this problem discord is nearly unusable.
