Notification sound options and rapid spam filter

Back in the day™, AIM ( AOL Instant Messenger) allowed you to choose different notification sounds for your buddies. Discord has one alert sound and while it does the job, if you have a bunch of different people messaging you at once, it becomes grating on the ears. Being able to select a sound that isn't quite as grating on the ears while letting you know when someone has messaged you would be a godsend.  Also being able to customize sounds for different people would also be a lovely addition.  That way you can tell who is messaging you before even checking.

Another feature that would be nice is some sort of anti-spam feature for chatting. For example,

I think most of us

have a friend or two who

in a chat have a tendency

to type out like this

in quick spurts

And if you have your alert sounds on,

that can be murder on your ears.

(Especially at night or during a game that takes up full screen)

Obviously, you can ask your friend to not rapid text like that or have some sort of feature where they rapid-fire off responses too quickly too often they'll receive the same kind of anti-spam notification that they would receive posting too often in a discord channel.
