Discord Stage Discovery removal - Online activist point of view

I read about Discord Stage Discovery being sunsetted and wanted to share my perspective as someone who does Vegan and animal rights activism. We run stages almost constantly on the Animal Rights Advocate server (https://discord.gg/animalrights) and Stage Discovery has been an incredible boon for reaching out and speaking to people across the world about the issue of animal exploitation and the harm of factory farming. The server has grown significantly since this feature was introduced.
 
We run stages with clickbait titles such as "Paying for meat is paying for animal abuse" and while we get our share of trolls, it has also grown the community significantly. It has helped us convince a large number of people to rethink their choices at the grocery store and consider not supporting the harmful animal agriculture industries. 
 
While I understand it is difficult for people to see distasteful content out shown such as nonsense like anti LGBT stages, there is still a lot of good that can be done and connections that can be made through stage discovery. I know for those in our community it will be sad to see this feature go. With covid still in full swing in large parts of the world, this feature truly gave us an outlet for activism.

    Frankly, I think you're a perfect example of why it IS being removed, since you flatly admitted that you used clickbait titles just to get more people into a Server.

    I do not think clickbait is a bad thing. I'm using it to mean "attention grabbing". It is not deceptive and the conversation is relevant to the discussion prompt. Why would you see that as a problem?
