This is getting ridiculous. Discord DM: Security Levels

I am in 200 Discord servers for several topics and I am angry.

I get about 60 DM SPAM BOTS messaging me every day. I am surprised after so many years of discord existing that a fix for security to do with DM's has not been implemented. It is as if the developers are not taking security seriously.

Most of us can not close DMs because we are moderators on numerous of servers so this is not a solution.


What do I propose?

Add security levels to DMs. Just like servers has no security, security via verified emails, security via verified phones, security via verified phones + verified email. Can you please add security levels to DMs as well. I would love to filter out the spam by only allowing accounts that are email verified to DM me and if spam continues than I would make my account level 2 security and only allow phone verified accounts.

This will obliterate all spam dm bots for good measure in the entirety of discord. Bots will be rendered useless. This is a giant leap for the entire Discord community.

    You can see the server you have in common with the spam bots and disabling DM for this specific server

    Negative. I cannot disable DMs for any server. These are huge community servers and they all have value and play a role.

    My solution would greatly impact all Discord members in limiting what is called the bot farm.
