Please give us a way to turn off ALL notifications from channels we've muted and silenced, even when mentioned with @everyone and @here
I posted a request, but also want to post here so others can add comments. I'm sure it's been done before, but I'm also asking for this extremely basic functionality...
As stated in the title, why can't I turn off notifications for "important" posts that use @everyone, @here, etc in channels I've silenced and muted.
The reason these channels are muted is because I have absolutely no interest in them. I don't care when someone posts to everyone in that channel. It doesn't concern me. You arbitrarily deciding I should get these notifications defeats the purpose of muting in the first place. When I get a notification saying I have a certain number of unread "important" messages across all the servers I follow, having to constantly go through and weed out all the unwanted ones from channels I don't care about gets extremely annoying.
I see a lot of complaints from other people in these channels, too, followed by the inevitable "please don't post to @everyone" etc. follow-up posts. This just causes anger amongst your users and makes them hesitant to post to all even when there is a legitimate reason to do so for those that actually follow those channels.
To be clear: your faq says, "Muting a channel or a server prevents unread indicators and notifications from appearing unless you are mentioned (which includes the @everyone and @here tags)."
personally, I am NOT being mentioned. The message is NOT being sent in hopes of reaching me, it is being sent to reach everyone that is ACTUALLY ACTIVELY FOLLOWING THAT CHANNEL! Where is the additional option that says, "Click here to also silence @everyone and @here notifications"?
These message notifications, besides popping up constantly on my computer, show up at the server level in discord, making each and every one of them seem important. I'm tired of having to go in 20-30 times a day to drill down into each server and each channel just to click the "read" button on things like announcements in channels for games I don't play just so I can see which channels I'm following that DO have messages I need to read. This seems like a very basic social media UI design 101 no-brainer. Why is the option not there?
