I really dislike that I can't minimize side bars and can only make the entire app a locked sized (assuming this has to do with the side bars)

I want to stay active in an ongoing chat forum on discord but I don't need anything else from the app while I'm doing this. If it could take up less screen real estate, it'd be very useful. It's about 1/4 the size of your screen regardless your ratio. If there is a solution for this problem, it is not readily available or easy to find. The "compact" mode does nothing to solve this.

    currently, here is one way you can fix this (i attached a custom made gif to explain the steps): 

    1. in the top right, click away the "show member list" (the person icon)

    2. on windows, use "ctrl -" to minimize your screen, apple is "cmmd -"

    3. in your settings, go to appearance, and make the font size bigger

    this should make the side bar on the right disappear, and the ones on the left much smaller, giving you more room on the actual "chat" you have
