Convert existing channels into threads, and vice versa.

Before threads came into existence, we used to have multiple channels in a category to keep things organized. They basically functioned how we use threads now, something related to the main channel but was big enough to warrant its own discussion to avoid confusing everyone.

Actually having threads renders this practice pointless because one can simply create a thread within a channel to a sub-discussion. Very neat and it cleans itself after a few days.

Now a lot of these channels still get use but they'd be better as threads. Creating a new one isn't a problem, the problem is the old channels still have history and is valuable to the posters.

So my request to Discord is simply, please add a function to convert these text channels into threads on another channel.

Likewise, I Imagine somebody who feels a particular thread would work better as a discussion channel would appreciate if you could do that as well.

This exactly. We want to introduce forum threads to get everything more organized, but it sucks that we have to throw away existing discussions, pictures, links and conversations.

Rather than doing that, we decide to just not use forums until we can safely convert our text channels to forum threads.
But going by other feature requests (and the date this request was posted), that time will probably never come.
