Threaded Channels
I'd like to see in Discord a new feature: Threaded channels (or thread-only channels).
When you create a new channel, you have various options which determine how the channel behaves:

I suggest adding a new channel type, which is specific to and optimized for threads. This will make Discord even closer to a forum replacement.
Right now, many of my channels are meant to be thread only. This can be achieved with permission hacks, such as removing write access but granting the permission to create threads.
This is very confusing for users who are new to Discord: every day we explain our new members how to use those channels, because it's not very intuitive.
They believe they need some special permission to post in those channels since the message at the bottom says so.

Once you click the threads button however, the view is very easy to navigate and has all the needed tools:

So my suggestion is basically to add a new channel type, which only allows threads, and has a layout tailored to threads usage.
Here's my concept:

It would be a great thing if it came to life

As a server manager this would be amazing to see. Would be cool if it would work kind of like the ticket bot where only certain people have access to see what's inside the threads but anyone can make one if that makes any sense.

This missing feature is the only thing preventing me from moving my community from Zulip to Discord.
I'd be fine with being able to swap the disabled create message input field with the inputs to create a thread.
