Possible Cryptocurrency Integration

I refuse to support a company that engages with crypto-technology. Cryptocurrency is an active player in hurting the environment through overuse of electrical power, as well as causing a gpu shortage. Actions that encourage the use of cryptocurrency are morally bankrupt with the lack of mitigation in either of these areas. We are already in a dire situation regarding our climate. I do not want to see another company contribute to it.

    ironic that a chat for gamers app supports something that actively hinders gamers (in that they can't make their rigs because nft clowns keep buying gpus to make fake money, scams, and ugly jpegs not even worth right-clicking outside of pissing off techbros)

    it really is incredibly disappointing to see a platform like discord even consider implementing something like this. it really feels like so many people in positions of power are completely disconnected from reality

    Please explain what the "reality" is here? web3 is so much more than NFT's. Yes there are some scams, yes Ethereum uses a lot of energy (for now). But decentralized, trustless value transfer is a new paradigm of technology and is so much more than the occasional scams that get publicized in the media. And there are a plethora of ways (some of which currently exist) to minimize the environmental impact of crypto.
