NFTs and why this is a terrible move

Listen, I totally understand that NFT's are HOT in some circles right now, but outside of that very small yet vocal group pretty much everyone else thinks this is absolute lunacy. Not only is this proven to be bad for the environment [https://earth.org/nfts-environmental-impact/], but these puppies can fit so many money laundering and tax evasions in them [https://medium.com/yardcouch-com/how-to-launder-money-with-nfts-56f1789e5591]
I understand that Discord is a business and you need to strike while the iron is hot, and boy howdy is the iron hot right now with this stuff, but trust me: this is not the road to go down. Seriously. This doesn't even cover the impact NFTs have on freelance artists.
I love discord and seeing this hurts. Please do not implement this.

    Commenting to help boost this. Discord needs to know that this is not what the userbase wants. To everyone else reading, cancel your Nitro subscription if you have one. Do NOT give your money to a company who is actively choosing to destroy our planet.
