Cryptocurrency Integration

To the Discord team,

It's come to my attention that you may be working on a way to incorporate crypto and blockchain into your service, and I'm sorry to say, but this is acutely upsetting news. Crypto has been devastating to the environment, and with the effects of global warming showing themselves in drastic and extreme ways, this decision feels irresponsible and short-sighted.

This may seem like a profitable decision at first glance, but it's not without consequences. Serious consequences that affect people in ways that cost them their lives, livelihood, peace of mind, and in the future could cost us all far more. Additionally, there are many, many people like myself who will be cancelling their Nitro subscriptions, if not outright leaving Discord entirely, if this feature is allowed to come to fruition.

Please take the time to consider whether a temporary profit will ultimately benefit you more than the loss of good chunks of your users, if not the value of the lives you would be helping trample all over. Choose what's right, not what's easy.
