Discord: Do NOT support Crypto/NFTs on your platform or you will loose YOUR supporters

NFTs do more harm than good. Not only are they just a gigantic scam, but they also actively contribute to the destruction of the environment. I am occasionally getting DMs from users I don't even recognize encouraging me to join their crypto-based servers and investing in their suspicious money laundering schemes. By enforcing NFTs/crypto to your platform, this will happen more regularly, and will discourage users like me from using your app. This is just unacceptable. As for me and many others, we will be canceling our Nitro subscriptions in protest. Expect a loss in sales and support if you continue through with this.

"While NFTs hold promise, critics say the mining that makes them possible is perhaps humanity’s most direct way of making money by polluting the planet–­Ethereum mining consumes about 26.5 terawatt-­hours of electricity a year, nearly as much as the entire country of Ireland and its almost 5 million residents...the process of producing the “coins” is tremendously inefficient–one 2018 study found that cryptocurrency mining consumes more energy for every dollar of value generated than extracting gold or copper."

"According to the Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Sentinel, Since October 2020 through March 31, 2021, reports of crypto-related scams skyrocketed to nearly 7,000 people reporting losses of more than $80 million.1 These figures reflect a 12-times increase in the number of reports compared to the same period on a year ago and a nearly 1,000% rise in reported losses."

    Commenting to help boost this. Discord needs to know that this is not what the userbase wants. To everyone else reading, cancel your Nitro subscription if you have one. Do NOT give your money to a company who is actively choosing to destroy our planet.
