No NFT please

Look, I get it, it's the hot new trend and everyone wants to jump on it. It's even going carbon neutral and that's great. But I can't support discord if it's going to actively encourage such a predatory system that's been responsible for a lot of art theft. There's no system of verification and people go around minting and selling NFTs of art that does not belong to them. As an artist, and someone who would like to make money from their art, I feel put out by this. I'm afraid that if I become sufficiently popular, people will start minting nft's of my art and selling them without my consent. What am I to do when such an untamed system is not only allowed, but encouraged to thrive? Also etherium mining is still horribly bad for the environment.
