Please don't do crypto
Cryptocurrency has a gross environmental impact, ranking among some entire countries in its collective energy requirements. In this time when we're struggling to combat climate change as a species, this alone should be enough of a problem to avoid using cryptocurrency, but there's more! It's also a massive scam and ponzi scheme.
There is no good reason to start using crypto. Please don't.
