Please avoid NFTs

I'm shouting out into the void just as many others are here as I doubt this has any real effect but since I care enough about discord to base most of my social interaction around it nowadays I have to at least try. 

Now I've been using discord for a long time, like many others and its been ups and downs that made me question if I should stick with it or not but I decided to try to stick with Discord as much as possible and by having Nitro (and now Nitro Classic) as my way of saying thanks for the service that discord provides but nothing has shaken my loyalty in using Discord and paying for Nitro like the idea of supporting and integrating NFTs or similar into the discord.

Beyond the questionable morality behind it, beyond the horrible effect or potential effect NFTs and certain type of crypto/blockchains have on our environment and electricity grids its just the next new grift to screw people over with. 

So until I've received some further news about this, I'm going to go ahead and cancel my Nitro subscription because I can not in any good faith support a company freely that wants to invest and put NFTs/similar in their products.
