Cancelling Nitro in wake of blockchain implementation.

In light of CEO Jason Citron’s reveal of wanting to use blockchain commerce and exchange with Discord, I’m canceling my Nitro subscription effective immediately. By integrating into your service, you’ll be perpetuating a market that is not only environmentally harmful, but also incredibly exploitative, in particular with NFTs which has been inundated with art theft with a community showing blatant disregard and even hostility to creators. By choosing to support this volatile market, Discord is either acting irresponsible and demonstrating abysmal judgement, or you’re willingly taking part knowing full well the problems created by this market. It’s disgraceful and unethical, and I do not want my money to be funding such a business.

    NFTs support their creators. They literally do whatever the creator makes them do.

    This is why artists are flocking to the space. They can get compensated fairly for their work, and not just once, but on an ongoing basis.
