Discord moving into NFT space is a monumental blunder

One of the funniest things about NFTs and blockchain tech has to be the common refrain, "it's freeing! No one can tell you what to do." Hilariously, a service that's almost required nowadays for gaming with friends on PC is forcing everyone to use it - dunno how that's freedom.

But that's a troll. A hilarious ruse. It's about sucking every single penny out of someone and hopefully making more money for Discord. Hosting a forum site can't be very lucrative. Shit tons of needed server space - ever increasing! I get y'all need money and would love to get the sweet, sweet crypto bro money. What's got to be the actual punchline to this long, bad joke is I don't know a single person who intends on keeping Nitro when this flip happens. 

Somehow, call me crazy, I don't think anyone on staff at Discord has taken this seriously. Or has thought about it at all. Good luck, don't incorporate NFTs.
