NFTs are a scam

I encourage the leadership at Discord to immediately discontinue their pursuit of using NFTs. Non fungible tokens are environmentally disastrous, the tokens themselves are a Ponzi scheme, and the crypto market itself is a black market currency. There is some potential good in blockchain technology, particularly in terms of security, but NFT is a fad, and Discord's participation in it is an obvious cashgrab. NFT is the 3rd rail of 2021. Pursuing it is going to have people leaving your service in droves, like Digg in 2010 or Tumblr in 2018
