Was about to buy Nitro; crypto news stopped me.

I've recently been using Discord more & was thinking that this week I might buy Nitro for the first time whenever I got around to doing my shopping and bill-paying for the month, and then this morning I open Twitter and hear you're planning on integrating cryptocurrency?!

I'm no longer considering Nitro, and if Discord integrates cryptocurrency in any way, finding the next up-and-coming messaging service is about to skyrocket up my list of priorities. I'm immensely disappointed that it's even being considered, and right when I was thinking that I could finally afford to monetarily support a service I get so much utility from.

Unnecessary negative impact on the environment aside, do you have any idea how out-of-touch it is for a messaging service originally built for people who play video games & which still caters to gamers in many really convenient ways to consider contributing towards a trend that's made PC gaming so much more expensive over the last couple of years?! One of the major reasons I was thinking I should get around to buying Nitro was because of how easy Discord has made it for me to organize my Minecraft server. That server's size and scope are heavily determined by the hardware I have access to, and I've spent close to a year worrying that when I'm finally in a place where I'll be able to afford to upgrade to a nice desktop computer, the hardware I really want will be out of my price range due to the popularity of this completely unregulated and needlessly destructive trend--or, for example, due to further disruptions in the supply chain from extreme weather conditions caused in part by cryptocurrency's impact on the environment.

I didn't want to spend my time today typing out something that seems so blindingly obvious already! My to-do list today says, like, "give your wife OP on the minecraft server; do we need salt?; discord crypto thing"; I have a full-time job; I vacuumed the whole house and did a ton of laundry today, I'm busy. I would prefer it if "get Nitro" were still on that list and I didn't have to consider the possibility of adding "find new messaging app", too, but this is the position Discord has put me, everyone else making similar posts, and a ton of other people who, like me, can't believe they would even have to spell this out (and unlike me, have more critical stuff to do with their Tuesday than hopping into your feedback forum same-day to explain this) in.

Reconsider this decision carefully. I'm not the only person who's ready to start looking elsewhere for a sensible messaging app to support.
