Been paying taxes on crypto since 2017. Havent touched a single NFT in that timeframe, and i dont plan on it. Has anyone here even read into what Discord is proposing?
Do you understand how showcasing NFTs through citron on a platform like Discord even works? Im assuming most of you dont considering the posts here.
Do you realize how valuable the OTHER proposed crypto focused services are (not relating to NFTs) and how if Discord doesnt hop on board, they will get left in the dust as the rest of the world (and all of Discords competitors) adopt this technology?
Do you guys see what is happening in front of your eyes with the development of the metaverse? Do you truly understand, or are you just regurgitating something that someone at one point told you.Its best you all do some research on exactly what it is that you are arguing against here.

Thats the thing bigshot, in the near future the underlying tech of nearly every financial remittance platform will be run on some variance of blockchain technology. We will all be using crypto for day to day transactions, even if its just as simple as the CBDC that your bank will roll out in the coming years. The entire world is adopting regardless of how you feel about crypto. This is not speculation, do research and learn more about how the worlds largest nations (and plenty of developing nations) are already rolling these technologies out.

Perhaps we will be using tokens in the near future to validate purchases. Unfortunately, the near future to that future will involve the entire planet burning beneath our feet, so there won't be anyone left to have money. The planet may still burn anyway, but personally I would like to mitigate at least one outcome like that by fighting against unnecessary, energy-wasting, planet-killing 'solutions' like this.

All of these "trolls" ARE the community. This feedback forum is overwhelmingly filled with people who do not want any part of this. I hate to break it to you, but you're in the minority here. And considering all the scams, environmental impact, and blatant art theft that surround NFTs, we aren't "trolls," we are concerned users.If you ask us to do research, then I think it's fair that we ask you to do research right back, on why people are so critical of NFT's and the blockchain as a whole.
