NFT support will push us to a different platform

As soon as Discord made the announcement regarding potential integration with NFTs and cryptocurrency, many of my friends and server members in multiple discrete servers started discussing alternative platforms that we could use instead, should this go through. Not only are NFTs intensely environmentally damaging, the entire premise of these so-called "investments" reeks of a scam. There is no accountability in the system, it is ripe territory for financial abuse of people too excited about this "new frontier" in investing to really think about the things they're buying.

To make matters worse, your survey made it blatantly clear that you do not want to hear any pushback against this option. To limit your responses to either enthusiastic support of NFTs, or simple ignorance/apathy towards them, is to plug your ears and try to ignore the myriad of justifiable arguments against your decisions. If Discord as a service refuses to listen to the overwhelming number of people adamantly against this move, then frankly, we'll all have to pack up and move to a different service.

Do not support NFTs or cryptocurrency. Nobody wants to go back to Skype. But if that's the only alternative, then that's better than supporting a website willing to shoot itself in the foot in the name of hopping on a scammer's bandwagon.
