A message to Discord regarding NFTs

Hello, Discord I just want to tell you that the implementation of non-fungible tokens (and cryptocurrency in general) in Discord is a very bad idea. If you do this, this will result in a PR disaster for your company and your community. Your userbase is rightfully upset about this and there are reasons why. NFT is a money laundering scam. You are paying an exorbitant amount of money, not for the art but for the receipt claiming that you own the art. Besides, the picture can be easily saved by using right click, as well as tap and hold, and screenshotting. Most NFT art that are generated by algorithms are ugly; and there are some that are stolen from other artists that took a lot of their time and effort. Considering how NFTs work, this would be really bad for the artist whose art was stolen. Another reason why the implementation is a bad idea is because NFTs (and cryptocurrency in general) cause irreversible damage to the environment. They take up a huge amount of energy to produce; the amount of energy an NFT consumes in a day is equivalent to the amount of energy a North American house consumes for at least three days. That can negatively affect the forest, which can be very harmful to the planet we live in. If you decide to cancel your plan to implement NFTs into Discord, I will be grateful. Thank you.
