Regarding NFTs - Pretty disappointed in ya, Discord!

Well, it has recently occurred to me that the CEO of Discord is planning on adding NFT integration into the platform.. Here's the tweet: https://twitter.com/jasoncitron/status/1457841222995693570 

I, along with millions of others have seen Discord as a really great, reliable, and friendly service where we can connect with friends, family, classmates, and even meet new people. With the plan of integrating NFT (or just crypto services in general), you are not only just contributing to the destruction of our environment, you are also losing the trust of your loyal supporters.

While I have supported Discord plenty of times over the years by subscribing to Nitro, I will be cancelling my subscription to the service until this decision of NFT integration is dropped. Many other users are planning on doing the same, and if you don't change your mind about the crypto currency supporting, there might even be more losses in profit from Nitro subscriptions.

Trust us Discord team, we mean this in the most serious way possible - please do not go through with this addition. This could lead to long term negative effects, not just to the environment, but for your users as well as your platform.
