Please (ftlog) separate pc controllers direct input buttons by controller ID
We need the bindings assigned to controllers on windows PC - ie joysticks, gamepads, etc - to be separated between controllers. Currently assigning a command on one controller makes it also assigned on ALL other controllers present. That makes that command to be trigged accidentally.
This is now an old problem (I made another request more than one year ago iirc and ticket was presumably forwarded and closed but nothing done since then - 7 months ago) and is quite a serious PRIVACY issue.
EXAMPLE - personal but it is what can happen to everyone!
I have one controller that has buttons with retention (that means if I push it ON it stays ON till I put it OFF . Such buttons are common on HOTASes - So I use such button because when I push it ON I know is ON for sure! I can check physically and visually that the button is ON. That button is assigned to: "Push to Mute".
This way I know my microphone is FOR SURE muted.
Only it isn't... because of a design bug old since the ability to assign direct inputs buttons was implemented makes that any controller attached to the PC that has a button with the same number as the button that is assigned to the "Push to Mute" to inherit the same function/assignement and thus if that button is not a retention button if it's used in a game for something else it will command UNMUTE microphone after the release and the microphone remains HOT from then on posing now a privacy issue.
Please... for the love of god... fix this! Just ad the Joystick/Controller ID number nut just the button number to the binding scheme.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards.
