Discord desktop force-pushing updates

The Cheat

Hello. The last week and a half or so, I've noticed three separate instances where I was typing in a Discord server chat channel on the desktop client and the client abruptly shut itself down to quickly update and restart. This causes whatever message I was typing at the time to be irrevocably lost.

Can we fix this so updates are only applying at startup or when the user accepts? There's really almost no reason for this behavior unless it's, say, tied to patching the log4j vulnerability (as one extremely rare example).

    I was able to reproduce this... Is it at all possible that you are somehow forcing it to reload by using the keyboard shortcut to reload? Reload client is Ctrl+r.

    It's possible but I can't see how. There's basically no reason to hit ctrl while typing normally in the server (at least not for me) unless I'm copying or pasting something, but that was not the case in any scenario.

    Doesn't appear there's a way to un-bind that either since it doesn't appear in key bindings.
