Servers must have been getting NFT raids! Please take these accounts down!
You guys help handle giant servers? I moderate three verified ones, two of which having >100k members. Both experience what I see as raids of new accounts, that are surely automatically generated.
One of those two servers had suspicious accounts joining in the influx of older, genuine accounts as that server is of a game that just had a major update; the incident happened silently as early as 09 January 2022, had its violent peak on 10 and 11 January, and went trickling again hitherto. When they joined the server, their accounts are seconds old (see Figure 1)!
And I found out a day later that it was also occurring in the other server. It is a server more than twice as big as the former, and the degree of joins is more severe, to the point of reaching the member cap-- it started around 12 and 13 January 2022 (see Figures 2 and 3), and until now the massive influx is ongoing (also see Figure 1)! The server's bots are trying to stem the growth by automatically banning extremely fresh accounts, but one of which got rate-limited. There were instances the main bot crashed, and it logging server activity became delayed for several minutes.

Figure 3. New joins in 2nd server from 20 November 2021 to 13 January 2022.
Those accounts initially had no avatars; just the simple Discord logo. Later, some seconds-old accounts bore avatars showing what can be perceived by many as NFTs. It turns out that the older, once-fresh accounts that joined earlier now also bore the same kind of images (Figure 3).

We are fearing NFT ad raids are imminent, and we strongly suspect these are not genuine users but bots. The former server is devising a crackdown against these accounts, while the latter is already implementing such, and one of its admins has tried to contact Discord to control this influx. Since this happened in two servers, I assume this also happens in other giant servers.
Discord, please, review all accounts starting in ID 9295, and eradicate those accounts that are bugging our servers! We do not want another platform-wide issue to disrupt our operations. Whoever does this abomination shall be within the reach of the rod of discipline.
*Server IDs are 207018395139309569 and 253581140072464384.
Update: the amount of extremely fresh accounts having NFT avatars increased, subsequent with the influx of avatar-less ones. These accounts are "older", as they get avatars first, yet still less than a minute old nonetheless (Figure 4). The manner of their entry is same with that of their "younger", no-avatar counterparts.
Influx is still ongoing at the time of writing.

I'm confused why even people are doing this. All their doing is making NFT users look like trash and causing the platform to look like even more of a fool by doing this.
Highly make the server Phone number verified for security and just tell everyone to disable dm contact to your server or to others that have this issue.
The other way is to unpublic the server just so those raid bots will stop showing up. but since it's a verified server, may not be the choice.0 -
Discord is allready taking down accounts of people for little to no reason. Seems like just existing on the platform is excuse enough. People that had accounts for years that was part of a server that was bad mouthed by a bad actor had their accounts disabled, just for being part of that server.
