Any way to limit the times a user can make a notification sound when they message you?

I have people who send messages to me by breaking up their messages into several entries.  

Discord makes a sound for every message they send.  So under a single minute, I will hear nothing but constant BEEPING whenever I receive a message from a user.

I understand I can turn off notification sounds as well as muting the person, but I would rather have it so I am able to get a single notification sound so that I know they've messaged me, and then any additional messages they send to me is silence until I address their messages.

Is there any way to do that?
