Phone got put on another account by accident

I put my phone number on other account by accident, and Discord helped me to a point. They gave me the directions:

If your phone number is not listed in the My Account tab, there's a possibility that the number is applied to another account (possibly an alternate account of yours).

You can attempt to access that account by following these steps below:
- Open an incognito browser window
- Enter your phone number instead of an email address at the login screen
- Click 'Forgot Password'
- Follow the link in the SMS sent to you to reset the password
- Log into your account
- Click on the cog icon to go to User Settings > My Account
- Add an email address that is not associated with any Discord account and then verify it
- Click on 'Remove Phone Number'
- At this point you can also click on 'Delete Account' if you wish to remove this account

While this is all fine and dandy, it worked till I logged in to the account. I needed to verify the email of the other account. Anyone else having this problem or someone had this problem and fixed it?
