[Suggestion] Add an exemption list to Do Not Disturb

This feature would mean that if you go on do not disturb there can be something in your account settings or a popup when you go on do not disturb for the first time which says something like 'Would you like to add friends or specific people to your do not disturb list?' and then there could be a drop down where you search for specific people or check mark 'friends'. Then you press confirm and now your notifications are muted apart from any messages from those specific people.

Another way you could change who is on your list would be to go into somewhere in your user settings and you can add and remove people who you want to be in your user settings

tl;dr - A setting where you can customise who you still get notifications for when you go on do not disturb mode

  Hi Alex,

  I think the "Do Not Disturb" feature is intended to be similar to Microsoft Windows's Focus assist which disables all notifications so that you're not bothered while doing other things.

  Something that I advise new Discord users to do is to manually configure server notifications for each of the servers they're in. Some servers which are really active can get a bit spammy abusing the @everyone and @here mentions, but there are ways of mitigating this.

  For most servers, I mute the server and set the notifications to only @mentions and if the server gets too spammy with the @everyone and @here I also suppress those.

  From a server admin position, roles and channel permissions can be configured like the ability to use mentions on a given channel.

  You can also manage your friends list like adding people to your ignore list or simply changing who can pm you on your account settings > privacy & security which I think is what you're trying to do. Additionally, if you right click a server, you can also disable direct messages from servers members if you want.
