Notifications on for a certain amount of time

Similar to how you're able to mute notifications on a group DM or Discord channel for a certain amount of time. You should be able to set a certain amount of time that you want to receive "all notifications" if you're waiting for a response from someone. As not everyone uses the "reply" feature all the time and if someone responds and types text normally you wouldn't be able to know if they have responded unless you have "Only @mentions" enabled.
