Talking causes the entire screen to freeze on the Linux client

When I start talking into a voice channel, my entire screen (not just the Discord window) freezes for 1-2 seconds. This also happens when i stop talking. This only happens when I use the Linux client. In the web browser it works just fine. 

I'm using ZorinOS 16.1.
