Pictures sent by friends in group chat not loading most of the time

When my friends send a picture, image or meme in our group chat the messages don’t load and instead turn into a black square with a discord symbol in the middle. None of them are having this problem at all, only me. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, logged out and logged back it, all of it. Is there any way to fix this? I love my friends and feel left out :(
