Recurring payments (India)

One day out of nowhere, the almighty government of the republic of India, has issued a notice to all financial institutions to stop processing all and any recurring payments effectively making millions of credit cards un-usable all throughtout the country.

So,

Tl;Dr - I (an Indian) can't pay for discord nitro classic anymore.

Unless I buy myself a gift and another gift before the first gift's period ends.

And this has it's own bugs, which i won't go in detail here

What I suggest discord to do is follow the footsteps of how GitHub handled the situation,

GitHub is accepting one time payments, and showing a "pay now" button for users from India, discord could do the same.

Also,

If I try to pay discord using my card, the transaction goes through, but after 3-5 minutes bank reverses the transaction.

It causes trouble for people.

I have done a transaction a few weeks back using paypal, and my card was linked to my paypal and when the bank reversed the transaction; paypal thought I was using a scam card, coz. bank reversed tnx. and banned my account, and I had to go through an extremely painful process explaining them the situation with banks and government rules are here to get my account restored.

And,

There is no other way for indians to pay (recurring) except going through a bank, which is a good disciple of the almighty government.

I'm facing the same issue too. I'm getting "payment failed" for the recurring monthly payment on my Nitro classic subscription because of this new RBI mandate. At least on other platforms (like my AWS account, Netflix account etc) even though the monthly automatic payment was stopped because of this RBI mandate, I can still pay manually every month by entering my CVV number or OTP verification. But in discord, there is no such option to do that. If I enter the same credit card again as a new payment option, it shows "duplicate card" error. What to do man.

That's exactly why I have raised this issue. We need to get this post to people making decisions at discord.

And it's the story with everyone in India actually.

I am also facing the same problem. Atleast they should allow us to pay with the same card manually.

Hey guys, recurring payment is working for me now. My card got debited automatically today. Hope it's solved for you guys too.
