Can we get an option to stop Discord from going to the newest post in a channel?

Can we get an option to stop Discord from automatically going to the newest post in a channel? I'm trying to read older posts, but every time I change channels or leave my phone or laptop for five minutes, it takes me to the newest message. Can we get some way to mark a message to return to?
