Whenever I'm typing a longer message, the message box doesn't scroll to keep showing where I'm typing?? Instead it stops at three lines and then I have to manually scroll to check every single line beyond that. Honestly maddening.

The spacing between channels and categories is weird.

The white notification dot next to servers seems to be removed. Could be because I have notifications turned off but it was still nice knowing if there are messages in some server.

Update on the notification dot: Seems to be caused by the stupid bug with miui dark mode

What annoys me the most is that on my tablet in landscape mode (aka how I use Discord 90% of the time) I can no longer have both the channel list and the member list (left and right swipes, respectively) minimized at the same time. It takes up a significant chunk of the screen and makes everything off-center.

On the other hand it used to be that when I long-pressed a message to open the reply menu, I had to carefully drag the menu itself up from the bottom of the screen where it was hidden behind my navigation bar, and now it pops up about halfway like it should. Not worth it, imo.

ETA: I can no longer add a custom server emoji to my message text by typing :emojinamehere:. It sends as plain text and will not appear in the drop...up... suggestion list of emojis. The only way to send a message with an emoji in it is to tap the face on the right and pick it from the grid. Given how tiny this grid is on mobile, it's kind of a big pain.

However, I do like the search results change. It now has pages instead of being a long list and you can view the context without jumping all the way back to the message. Very handy.

I am one of the three people in existence who actually use light mode and this update got rid of all the contrast between elements in light mode. All the backgrounds of all elements are solid white now, no grays separating stuff like there should be. It looks horrible and is a lot harsher to use and a lot worse for accessibility. It doesn't look like light mode on desktop, it doesn't look like light mode on the old Android version, it's borderline unusable.

Moreover, it looks like an iOS app - not looking like an iOS app on Android was one of Discord's biggest strengths prior to this update. This is the single worst change Discord has ever made in the 6 years I've been using it.

I haven't seen anyone else mention it so I made a ticket about this: they've apparently removed the settings option for emoticons automatically changing to emojis. Now they automatically change and you can't choose to turn that off, the option is no longer there! So annoying! I don't want all my emoticons to be emojis, there's a time and place for both

Edit to add: if you use a bot for sending messages under a different name (popular for role play servers, characters can have their own discord "account" via bots), the message lags to where discord tells you you've got an unopened message and sends you the notification pop up for it, even if you just sent the message and are still in the same channel. Sometimes you have to go out of the channel and back in again to get the message you sent yourself to be marked as read

Disabling image preview no longer works. I tried turning it on and off multiple times, unchecking and rechecking syncing across clients.
Even if the option is enabled, you can still see images that are uploaded directly to discord.
