Discord on Folding Phones
Discord recently introduced a new tablet/split pane UI for Android, which feels a lot like Discord does on desktop. I am a huge fan and really like this direction for the app. However, it seems as if this update broke the app's ability to resize depending on the width of the screen.
Currently, the split pane UI can only be activated on my Z Fold 4 by opening the app in landscape. If I then rotate to portrait, it is as if the app keeps the landscape width and the right side of the app is cut off by the edge of the screen, making it impossible to hit the send button or see the user pane. This is also the case switching from the main display to the cover display or when doing split screen multitasking. Prior to this UI update, the app was able to resize to any width.
What I would like to see is the width bug squashed so Discord will resize to the width of the screen. I would also like to see the split pane UI work in portrait mode on the Fold's main screen as it is definitely wide enough. On the cover display or in split screen multitasking, it should use the phone style UI as it is more compact and easier to navigate for that width of screen.

Having the same problem on my Z4 as well. Also the split pane doesn't show up if the app is opened in the small screen

Seconded. With the React Native update for Android, the app went from being highly adaptable and usable in all window sizes to completely unusable in many cases. I am also experiencing the send-button issue that the OP describes. I can provide screenshot/video examples if it helps get this bug fixed faster.

I would like to add a few things. It has been 3 months and I still experience this issue on a daily basis. I have switched from Discord for Android beta to the alpha but still haven't had much luck. I update every day hoping to see the issue fixed.
One thing I did notice is if I launch the app on the cover display, then switch to the main display, it resizes properly. From there, switching to the cover display again does resize back to the width of the cover display. I also noted that multi app/floating window functions properly with this scenario as well. However, launching Discord from the main display, then switching to the cover display produces the issue described in my OP above.
So I know it isn't great but as a work around until Discord can fix this, try to always launch Discord from your cover display as that seems to keep the scaling working properly.
