Any time i enter the friends tab now i am tempted to make the window smaller because on small widths that stupid "active now" thing vanishes. But once i go into a chat the small window is ... well ...

since it got implemented i have this dumb notification "See what other people are up to" in my friends tab with only one button to start the feed and none to decline. i don't know how to get rid of...

nope, not red, remember it is a thing you always see, it should be readable when you look at the channel but not do any more eye-catching.
