You can do this easily with a 3rd party software so there is no real privacy issue here. I am up for this as long as there is an indicator per joined user that they are recording.

A workaround to this is to make it so DMs from server members are OFF BY DEFAULT and allow communication only from approved members AKA FRIENDS.
