I think by mute you mean 'something more than "1 blocked message - Show message"' and I totally agree. I blocked MEE6 bot because I was tired of seeing the face and spam. I expect to not see the me...

Some people post arbitrarily ok pictures in channels such as general in some servers. For example, gore. I would love the ability to minimize a message client side.
