Would make it so difficult for server owners to choose role colours, I know that alt role colours between light and dark theme is in the works, but this would over complicate a lot of stuff

Big agree with this, for servers I've used invite backgrounds on, the overlay just takes up way too much of the space

you could make a new role called everyone, and assign it to everyone, then put a rank below that, but as mentioned ^^^ this isn't how @everyone works lol
