    It's not like having an option for nicknames requires you to use it, and notes will still be there. I would expect nicknames to be an override regardless of what they change theirs to. -E-

    I would actually make it default ON, as the purpose is to reduce accidental calls, and those are more likely with people less experienced with the interface. -E-

    I agree that it makes sense to be able to modify the character limits, but I won't be surprised if the reason for the upper limit has to do with server load or something... -E-
