    you could also just use telegram and let the people who want privacy keep privacy it's not even something that's viable to make on/off, because if you turn them off you have to have conversations ...

    idk if y'all know this but if you're using discord for work, just use slack. they're basically work-discord and read receipts are on their dev backlog.

    I don't like this kind of feature, cause it's the opposite of privacy. Besides, people on phones can read the message on their notifications without actually clicking on the window.
