Audio files still can't be played on mobile despite voice message implementation
Why do the mobile Discord clients still not support regular audio file embeds despite the successful implementation of voice messages on those platforms? Why go through all this to get one form of audio uploading to work but only for one specific usage? Are voice messages stored as some sort of proprietary audio format which is the only thing mobile clients are compatible with for some reason? If not, why not allow regularly-uploaded audio files to play on mobile clients (aside from iOS, which may have compatibility issues with ogg/flac/other free formats for arbitrary Apple reasons), either displayed similarly to voice messages or similarly to how regular audio embeds are displayed on the desktop clients?
All the Voice Messages support article says about this is
Q: Can I upload my own audio files and get them to look like Voice Messages and play inline in chat?
A: No.

the discord voice message are infact just ogg opus files (go to the web version of discord, open the network tab on devtools and click on a voice message; you'll see a "voice-message.ogg" pop up) so yeah, really strange not being able to play other audio files

In the support ticket regarding this, a support team member said (after nearly three weeks of back and forth while I tried to communicate that this is an issue with all devices, not just mine):
We heard back from the team and they let us know that the mobile version of the app does not support audio file previews like on the Desktop version. It is possible this may change in the future, but at this present time, in order for you to listen to an audio file from Discord you'll need to download it and opened with the native audio playback application available on your device.
Like, yeah, I'm aware of that.
Still no word on why, though.

Adding my support to this feature. Discord mobile has supported video embeds for years now, and I'm in discord servers where people make music and share stuff in progress with mp3/wav/ogg uploads. I'm not always at my computer so it would be really nice to listen to them on mobile.
