Point system for new Discord Username rollout
So a lot of people suggests to delay or completely cancel the new rollout. Since I feel like we as the users will not be able to stop this, I rather wanted to come up with a fair and less pay2win rollout of the system. Please do not downvote solely because you're against the new name system, if it's going to roll out nonregardless I believe there should be a fair system. You can always downvote if you don't like the suggestion :D
Of course having Nitro before March is a good way to filter out some bots, so is account age. But having one before the other is just not a simple way of determining who actually deserves an username before the other. I believe that there should be a point system to calculate a leaderboard and roll out depending on that list.
So what would give you points?
- For every year that you've been registered
- For every month that you've been subscribed
- For every 168 hours you've been online (1 week)
- For every bug you've reported (for the bug hunters)
- Bot applications with active users (I don't have experience or knowledge in this field but this could be for every 1000 active users or 10000 active users)
Basically, the more active you were or the more supportive (hence bugs and bots being included) you will have more points. In this way I find it more fair. I've been registered since 2016 but don't think this should be the only reason for determining my position, because someone can be newer but could have been more active or had more input in making the discord community bigger.

There's no point in giving up on pushing back just yet. The mega-post (https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/14337329256983--Do-NOT-add-The-new-discord-usernames-system) is collecting a LOT of comments and votes, and the amount of nitro unsubs is probably what spurred staff to try and beg people not to cancel by bribing them with username opportunities (proving, of course, that they DO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND that it is going to be a massive nuisance that no one wants) so I believe the unsubs are doing something. Just keep encouraging others to unsub.
As for your suggestion - possibly, if they've tracked exactly how much time an account has been online, but I don't think that's going to work. Doesn't include idle time, for example, when you are online but have the app minimized. I feel like this would require a lot more precise data than any company could reasonably track.

Well then, discord will most likely go under then. Pretty much everyone is not happy about this. One of the biggest features that made discord good is being destroyed. No matter how fair of a system they try to use to implement this, the new username system will never come in easy.

Artimeises I'm not sure what to say if you really think discord will go down under because of this change.

Basketball Stars Unless they've got some way of knowing how long an account's been active online, which I highly doubt. Doesn't factor in downtime, such as when you're connected but not using the app. In my opinion, this calls for more accurate data than any business could properly collect.

This user suggests tweaking Discord's new naming system to make it fairer and less fee oriented. By the way, buy discussion board post I can here https://studyfy.com/write-my-discussion-board-post. He admits that despite user opposition to the innovation, its implementation is most likely inevitable. Therefore, it is better to propose a system that would be fair to all.

Users with higher points could receive special roles or recognition in the community.

Falcolmreynolds I'm afraid no matter how many votes or comments that post gets, it's not going to change their decision.
