in-app Youtube player

As it is right now, clicking Youtube links or the play icon in the embed in the Android app (may apply to iOS as well, I'm not sure) will open the video link in the Youtube app or the browser, according to the user's preference. On the Desktop version, however, users can watch Youtube videos without leaving the app.

The mobile experience suffers from not having that option, as mobile users can only have one app active at a time, while PC users can have the video's music in the background while chatting, or even set the Discord Window and browser window next to each other.

I would like to see an in-app Youtube player on the mobile version, similar to what PC already has.

  An embedded YouTube player would be a lot of work for the devs than I think they would want to do for something like that. The YouTube links switch to your YouTube app(or browser) rather quickly, so I don't see why you want to have it play in the app. My android phone allows YouTube to play in a small window while I have other applications open, so that may be of interest to you.
