[Reading] Comparison of mentions and channel links

After having scanned through the update more thoroughly after being told off in another thread, I found a massive inconsistency that could very well throw off a lot of users I didn't realise before because I was only doing this in testing rooms.

Illustrated in the picture, there's a difference between mentioning a user or channel and getting mentioned, with or without a channel – The mention background disappears.

This was a massive oversight, and I had NO idea how bad this was until I got hit by one of those at around 21:00 yesterday, where I was noticeably sleepy. It took me a few minutes to realise that there was a channel linked within the mention I got.

If you don't see the problem, contrast the bottom two messages against the message right above it. You can clearly see the mention and channel links there, but in the areas where you get mentioned, both the mention and channel text blend in with the rest of the text block. This inconsistency not only hinders those with visual impairments but those without as well, as you can now easily lose track of mentions and channels if you're in it.

The easiest way to combat this issue is to reintroduce that backdrop to the pings and channels when you get mentioned. Alternatively, you can change the text colour of the mention or channel.
