About the account system

Hello.

I used to own a Discord account that was 7 years old, I have just now lost it because it got flagged for “suspicious activity”. The reason why I can't just reinstate the account is because I lost everything related to my account, password, 2FA, backup codes, all lost. I'm not blaming Discord for flagging me though, I must've done something, somehow.

Onto my point, the account system is absolute garbage, everything relies on itself, on paper, it's an okay idea. But in practice it causes a lot of accounts to be lost due to common human error or even software glitches. I lost my 2FA because Google authenticator decided to get rid of it for some reason, and I lost my password and backup codes because I forgot to save them, all of those combined to make my account inaccessable.

Please, change or make one thing that doesn't rely on having 2FA to put onto your account, like a phone number. I couldn't access certain servers because I didn't put my phone number for some reason, even then, it would be really nice if someone made it so you can put your phone number not requiring a password or 2FA.

That is 100% wishful thinking though, I'm just irritated my account of 7 years just got taken away because of a silly mistake, still, you should get what I'm trying to say regardless if I made bad points, the account system is garbage and it is too easy to lose an entire account.
