I've been hacked and I feel like Discord support is dismissing me.
Hi, I hope this is the right place to address my concerns.
Disclaimer: English is not my native language and I'm autistic on the verge of burnout - take that in consideration answering me.
Two weeks I was hacked by a hate group on my discord account. To summarize, I'm a moderator on a big autistic community. My tasks as a moderator is to help the members of the server to understand the use of Discord and to provide mental support if needed.
So then, Sunday 29th, a "girl" from the server came to me asking if I was *whatstheirname* on *this server*. I told "her" no and closed the discussion. "She" came back, asking if I could provide help for "her" own server. Then "she" gave me a really weird explanation on why "she" couldn't resize a .jpeg on her mobile phone and had no computer. "She" asked me to resize the pic for "her". It was a flood of explanation and justification on why "she" couldn't do it "her"self, because of such a lack of good informatic equipment. Genuinely I believed "her" as a member of my community, I told to myself it'll take half a minute to do it so I accepted the request. I resized it quickly and sent it back. Then I was overflowed with psychophobic insults I wouldn't detail as it was particularly violent, told I was hacked and my instances would disconnect soon. I just had time to ban "her" from the community server, and I lost access to my account. Trying to reset my password or reconnect, I was told my account was deactivated. Speaking about it with the admins of the server I moderate, we came to the conclusion I was targeted by a hate group. The insults I got were focused on my supposed intellectual deficiency and the social allowance I'd get resulting this.
A huge part my private life is on my account. I live abroad for my professional life (I'm a professor), so Discord is the only way I could keep contact with my friends in my country. I have a server were I exchange with them everyday, it's my breath of fresh air. Also, as I'm an active member of autistic communities, being hacked made me lose my support communities - with vulnerable members I'd help. And the cherry on the sundae : a huge part of my professional life is on my account.
I've lost all this within minutes because I'm gullible and trusted a so-called fellow autistic.
It has been 2 weeks from then, I've send many tickets to the support, left unanswered. It's giving me a lot of anxiety, my job is draining me and Discord was my only way to get support from my friends and fellow communities.
The main concerns I've asked the support are :
- Is the account going to be deleted if deactivated for too long?
- Can I activate my account back?
- Can I have access to my account back?
- As the only admin of my own server, will I lose it if my account is deleted?
- When the support is going to answer me?
Today I've lost my temper and tried *AGAIN* to connect to my account. I've reboot my password on the website and got access to it. (Still couldn't connect to my app account tho). I've seen the tickets I've sent, marked as resolved while I never got answer. The last ticket I've sent minutes ago was answered by the bot, not addressing any of my concerns - marked as resolved.
I never got updates on my mailbox that the tickets were resolved. I've checked everyday. Furthermore they weren't.
I'm just asking to speak to a human. Not a lecture by a bot on why is it dangerous to believe people on the internet. I'm not dumb. I use a VPN and BitDefender and none of my passwords are the same - enabling a lot of damage control after the hack. It's driving me crazy to feel forsaken by the support this way.
I'm really not asking advice on how to handle my cybersecurity or a sermon on why I shouldn't believe people on the internet. I need answers for my concerns.
Thank you if you read this to the end.

Unfortunately, Discord has basically no customer support presence. I've been waiting for help with my ticket since September, and haven't heard anything since I was “transferred to the Trust and Safety Team” and ignored.
If possible, you might be better served making a new account, unless you're in a position like mine where some of the things on that account would be rendered completely unaccessable with the loss of your original account.
Even in that situation, a temporary new account might allow you to start rejoining some of your communities while you spend the next few months fighting with Discord for actual assistance with your real account.
I'm sorry that I don't have a better solution for you, but Discord doesn't give us much opportunity to say good things these days.

Thanks for your answer.
In fact, yes I need my account back to get this features accessible only on my account.
I couldn't risk my own server to be deleted.
I've created another account. But it's not the same.0
