Flaws in new UI
A few things have caught my attention.
First, the placement of the ‘messages’/notifications/You buttons will cause frustration and misclicks due to the placement, anytime the keyboard glitches (which it will.) moving DMs has relegated them to a lower attention spot; even instagram and other social medias, which this layout is somewhat blatantly based on, keeps its direct messages near the top of the screen.
Secondly.
The dual notification is a pain. If you have DMs in another location at least have the decency to keep it contained to that location, or disappear once the DM notif bubble is visible? the arrow still having a red bubble implies a Bonus Notification which we just can't find, it's redundant and this isn't a problem the old UI had.

Thirdly the app rotates by itself now?? Seriously, my auto-rotate is off, I tilted my phone trying to get that screenshot and found myself staring at a horizontal layout without even being asked? I didn't see this in the settings unless something that big falls under ‘rEdUcEd mOTiOn’ which, please.
fourthly as i'm just noticing, is the ….. notification bubble on servers blue..? that's genuinely confusing to me. I didn't realize that's what that meant. come on. come onnn that goes against the visual language you've been building for YEARS! don't throw away that handy visual shorthand and color associations.
overall the update is a bad mashup of other social media appearances, it reads like you wanted to be like the titans of other media sites but you're losing all the features and uniqueness that made discord GOOD.
EDIT;; i forgot to mention, the weird friend scroll bar at the top is horrible?? there was already a tool for that, called A Status Under A Name When You Scroll Down. It's also fairly useless with a seemingly random assortment of icons without names??? these people change icons weekly. I do not know who they are and there's no reason for it. why
