New Mobile Layout
This is awful and bad and terrible. So many of my friends and servers are migrating away onto other platforms simply because—surprise surprise—your app for niche community servers contains A LARGE NUMBER of neurodivergent people! And this new update is horrendous, the accessibility is bad and the shortcuts are unnecessary, the change makes me feel sick, and I do not need this kind of stress in my life around something that until now felt safe and welcoming. This was my escape, my community, where I came for comfort and a sense of family, and it's like you've crashed in and redecorated without even giving the option to say no. Quite possibly the worst thing about this has been your reaction; some of your responses to people's genuine complaints have been so condescending and gross.“We understand ;D" no! You absolutely don't, or you wouldn't have done this. If you hold any respect whatsoever for your users, you will change this back asap, or at least GIVE US THE OPTION and then pay attention to how many people choose the old layout over the new. Hell, post a feedback poll or something! Those of us who had the misfortune of being the first to receive the update had absolutely no warning. I have stress-induced seizures, and it is quite literally no exaggeration to say that this stupid, unnecessary update has damaged both my mental and PHYSICAL health. On a bad day, a change like this that feels so intimately intrusive to something previously thought safe can absolutely be enough to tip a vulnerable person over the edge. From the very bottom of my heart, **** you.

i’m neurodivergent too and the second i opened my app this morning i got a massive headache even trying to use it cs i have to switch tabs so many times

Absolutely. For all Discord says they value accessibility, it's extremely clear accessibility wasn't even an afterthought when it came to this update, it just wasn't considered at all. Incredibly disappointing to see a platform so many disabled people use utterly fail to consider us.

I used to stim by swiping back and forth between the channel list, text chat, and user list. The removal of this smooth, intuitive, and fun feature has left me significantly distressed. I feel like i have to go looking to find my friends’ profiles, servers, or messages. I feel lonely and isolated in this UI. It feels so impersonal and cold. Also, the new dark theme genuinely hurts to look at. There was no consideration put into this update whatsoever.

loof 100% agreed on the stimming, I think that may be part of why I hate it so much, I had a very set rhythm for just cycling through and checking for information, even if there's nothing there. It's a nice rhythm and that's completely gone, now feeling like waiting for a package stressfully at the door instead of just vibing and checking channels.

Jared Arnold loof yes, that. I couldn't put it into words but this is exactly what I'm experiencing too, on top of all the change I can no longer interact with it like I used to. It's like a toy stopped working, like one of those spring door stops has been super glued shut or something. It's just sad.

Nice analogy yeah, basically like Discord broke our fidget spinner that was the primary reason we enjoyed using the app in the first place, now it's just dead and depressing
